♥ - WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD 03/01/2013 - ♥

AFTER A WHILE

After a while you learn
the subtle difference
between holding a hand
and chaining a soul
and you learn
that love doesn't mean
leaning and company
doesn't always mean security.

And you begin to learn
that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises
and you begin to accept
your defeats
with your head up
and your eyes ahead
with the grace of woman,
not the grief of a child.

And you learn
to build all your roads on today
because tomorrow's ground is
too uncertain for plans
and futures have a way
of falling down
in mid-flight.

After a while you learn
that even sunshine burns
if you get too much
so you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone
to bring you flowers.

And you learn
that you really can endure
you really are strong
you really do have worth
and you learn
and you learn
with every goodbye,
you learn..

“For beautiful eyes,
look for the good in others;
for beautiful lips,
speak only words of kindness;
and for poise,
walk with the knowledge
that you are never alone.”

~ Audrey Hepburn

“Good memories are like charms...
each is special.
You collect them,
one by one,
until one day
you look back
and discover they make a long,
colorful bracelet.”

~ James Patterson

No matter what
you might be going thru,
the  ending will be greater
than it's beginning.
As long as you still breath,
you have a purpose to fulfill
and usually the one who gets in the way
of that fulfillment
is your own self.
So let go of your fears
Get up,
and get out of your own way.

Some of the most powerful
and valuable things in life
are the things that never get used up.
Indeed,
those things such as love,
integrity,
truth,
compassion
and wisdom
become more  plentiful
the more they're used.

Ralph Marston

LOOK BACKWARDS
WITH GRATITUDE,
UPWARDS
WITH CONFIDENCE
AND
FORWARDS
WITH HOPE.

- LETTING GO... -

To let go is to open a door,

and to clear a path

and set yourself free
To let go isn't to forget,
not to think about,
or ignore.
It doesn't

leave feelings of anger,

jealousy,
or regret.
Letting go isn't about

winning or losing.

It's not about pride
and it's not about how you appear,
and it's not obsessing or dwelling on the past.
Letting go

isn't blocking memories

or thinking sad thoughts,
and it doesn't leave

emptiness, hurt, or sadness.

It's not about giving in or giving up.

Letting go isn't about loss

and it's not about defeat.
To let go is

to cherish the memories,

but to overcome
and move on.
It is having

an open mind

and confidence
in the future.
Letting go is learning

and experiencing

and growing.
To let go is to be thankful
for the experiences
that made you laugh,
 made you cry,
and made you grow.

It's about all that you have,

all that you had,
and all that you will

soon gain.

Letting go is having the courage
to accept change,

and the strength

to keep moving.
Letting go is growing up.
It is realizing that the heart
 can sometimes be
the most potent remedy.

To let go is to open a door,

and to clear a path
and set yourself free.

Baking Soda as Silver Polish

To polish silver:
Wash items, then place on aluminum foil in the bottom of a pot.
Add a baking-soda solution (¼ cup soda, a few teaspoons salt, 1 quart boiling water)
and cover for a few seconds.

The result?
A chemical reaction
that gets the black off the gravy boat.
